QuoteAssistant -- Every Blogger's Writing Tool

QuoteAssistant is a tool to help bloggers in writing spots rich in links. It works as a server-side PHP script in cooperation with a favelet/bookmarklet and a few line of client-side javascript on the editing page.

Installation and Usage

1. Add one of the following favelets to your bookmarks: Mozilla - QuoteAssistant or IE - QuoteAssistant.

2. The moment you come across something interesting on the net and you wish to save the link and a quotation simply select the desired text with your mouse and click on the favelet in your bookmarks.

A window opens which you can (but do not have to) leave open in the background. The window is a visual store of links and quotations. After visiting all necessary pages and saving all necessary quotations, click on the "edit" link to get to the editing page. The edit page has a textarea for the spot to write and the list of quotation has a few buttons each. Each quotation (or part of it) may be selected with your mouse and inserted to the textarea with the click on the corresponding button.

After the spot is ready, you cut and paste it somewhere. I am planning to add a feature for posting via Blogger API.

You are encouraged to experiment with each button while selecting text with your mouse:-)

Tips

TIP: Select a phrase and press the "a_sel" button--the phrase will be enclosed with A-tag and linked to the quotation source.
