Podle zprávy televizní stanice v kansaské Wichitě zemřela jedna z divaček zjevně na zástavu srdce při sledování vyvrcholení scény ukřižování během středečního ranního promítání filmu "The Passion of the Christ".

Film se v USA promítá od 25. února, v Česku by měl mít premiéru 8. dubna. Velmi kontroverzní film; jestli se rozhodnu vyhodit několik dolarů, abych ho viděl, tak se vyjádřím k tomu, jestli to je nebo není snímek s protižidovským podtextem. "The Passion of the Christ" je dílem křesťanského tradicionalisty.

Mel Gibson, který je režisérem a napsal i scénař spolu s Benedictem Fitzgeraldem, považuje evangelia Matěje, Marka, Lukáše a Jana svým filmovým zobrazením posledních 12 hodin pozemského života Ježíše Nazaretského za doslovnou pravdu. Nedává prostor metafoře nebo mýtu, neobjeví se tam ani náznak současných interpretací. Tohle není "Poslední pokušení Ježíše Krista", adaptace románu Nikose Kazantzakise zpracovaná Martinem Scorsesem, ve kterém se spekuluje o mukách a sebepochybnostech Ježíše. Tenhle film je dílem víry.

A woman died of an apparent heart attack Wednesday while watching the climactic crucifixion scene in "The Passion of the Christ" at a morning showing in Wichita, Kansas, a television station reported.

The movie opened in the USA on February 25, its Czech premiere is scheduled for April 8. Very controversial movie; if I decide to waste few dollars to see it, I will post my opinion if it's a movie with anti-Jewish sentiments. In depicting the last dozen hours in the earthly life of Jesus of Nazareth, Mel Gibson, who directs a script he wrote with Benedict Fitzgerald, takes the gospels according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John as literal truth. There is no allowance for metaphor or myth, no hint of contemporary interpretation. This is not "The Last Temptation of Christ," Martin Scorsese's adaptation of Nikos Kazantzakis' novel that speculates on the torments and self-doubts of Jesus. This movie is an act of faith.
