Češi si stěžují na víza - Czechs complain about visas
| Česká republika podala Evropské komisi stížnost na vízovou povinnost, kterou pro její občany uplatňují USA, Kanada, Austrálie a Brunej. Zatímco tyhle státy (většinou) nevyžadují víza od občanů "starých" zemí EU, pro nové členy je nezrušily. Naopak všech 10 nových členů muselo uplatnit společnou vízovou politiku vůči výše zmíněným zemím, což znamená, že jejich občané mohou například do ČR cestovat bez víza. Komise se ke stížnosti musí vyjádřit do ledna příštího roku. Ačkoliv si nemyslím, že tahle stížnost v dohledné budoucnosti cokoliv změní, alespoň se o to můžeme pokusit, ne? | The Czech Republic made a complaint to the European Commission about the visa requirements for its citizens to travel to the USA, Canada, Australia and Brunei. All these countries (mostly) do not require visas from the citizens of the "old" EU countries, while keeping the requirement in place for the new members. On the other hand, all 10 new EU members had to apply the common visa policy towards the above mentioned countries meaning their citizens can travel to, say, the Czech Republic without a visa. The Commission has to reply to the complaint by next January. Although I don't think this complaint will change anything in the foreseeable future, we can at least try, right? |
