Konec oslav VŘSR - Celebration of the communist revolution is over
| Už žádné oslavy komunistické revoluce v Rusku. Třináct let po rozpadu SSSR se v Rusku rozhodli zrušit 7. listopad jako státní svátek. President Putin prý chce nový zákon, který mění státní svátky v Rusku, podepsat ještě před koncem roku. Zcela nepochybně se najde mnoho Rusů, kterým se nebude líbit, že 7. listopadu už nebudou moct oficiálně mávat rudými prapory a připomínat si Lenina, Stalina a jim podobné. Mezi nespokojenými ale pravděpodobně bude i dost těch, kteří nejsou komunisty a přesto jim bude tenhle „svátek“ chybět. Například moje známá, Ruska trvale žijící v USA. Pro ni to byla jakási nostalgická vzpomínka na dobu dětství, pionýrských šátků a vojenských přehlídek. Snad ji to brzy přejde. | No more celebrations of the communist revolution in Russia. Thirteen years after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Russian parliament decided to get rid of November 7 as a holiday. President Putin apparently wants to sign the new bill changing Russian holidays before the end of this year. There will surely be many Russians who will not like not being able to officially wave the red flags and commemorate Lenin, Stalin, and their likes. There will as well be those who are not communists and yet they will miss this "holiday" in a way. Like my friend, a Russian living permanently in the U.S.A. For her, this was a sort of nostalgic memory of her childhood, pioneer ("young communist") handkerchiefs and military parades. Hopefully she’ll get over it quickly. |
